K-12 School

A school providing tailored educational programs and support for students from kindergarten through 12th grade (ages 5-21) with diverse abilities and learning needs. The school focuses on creating an accessible learning environment, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and offering specialized therapies, accommodations, and behavioral support to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The aim is to foster independence, develop critical life skills, and prepare students to function within the community.

Classrooms: 14 classrooms  of 8-9 students per classroom (120-126 Students total), supported by two aides and one Special Education teacher. These technologically-advanced classrooms create adaptive and scaled learning environments to meet the needs of each student.

Sensory Rooms: Dedicated areas to provide calming environments for students needing relief from sensory overload.

Therapy Rooms: Designated spaces specifically designed to accommodate speech and behavioral therapy sessions.

Art and Music Rooms: Purpose-built classrooms designed to accommodate creative instruction while encouraging expression and therapeutic engagement.

Life Skills Areas: Tailored areas featuring model living spaces to teach essential activities of daily living skills in a practical context.

Nurse’s Office: An on-duty Registered Nurse/EMT to address minor injuries and illnesses, providing immediate care in emergencies, coordinating with higher levels of care, and liaising with the Wellness Center medical professionals for other services.

Counseling Center: A team of mental health, social, and behavioral professionals work with individuals and families to address social and emotional challenges, behavioral issues, or specific mental health concerns. This team develops  strategies designed to promote positive behavior, reinforce coping strategies and leverage other school and community resources to fulfill needs such as transition planning and facilitation of services or referrals.

Library, Resources and Media Center: A multifunctional hub for students and staff featuring a diverse array of books, textbooks, magazines, computers, tablets, and audio-visual tools. Designed to encourage independence, study, research, and collaboration, this center includes reading areas, study pods, tutoring rooms, and work rooms. Additional areas such as a digital production and media lab, quiet zone, and an assistive technology and accessibility hub foster creativity, innovation, and inclusion for all learners.

Lunchroom: A welcoming space where students can eat and socialize alongside staff trained to support a range of dietary, sensory, and behavioral needs. The lunchroom offers accommodations such as sensory-friendly settings, individualized meal plans, and assistance with eating or social interactions, promoting independence, nutrition, and social-emotional learning.

Auditorium: A versatile venue seating up to 320 people, ideal for performances, assemblies, award ceremonies, community events, student gatherings, and milestone occasions such as graduation.

Playground: An inclusive playground that caters to people of all abilities, fostering active play and social interactions.

Physical Fitness, Physical Education and Physical Therapy. These important elements are conducted at the adjacent Wellness Center adjoined to the school. Programs are tailored for each student and class based on age, curriculum and individual abilities.
